Folio 103 - Will of Robert Mathewe of Barton in the Cleye labourer, made 17 Dec. 1546 (3 Edw. VI) No note of probate, but at the bottom of the page a date: 22 April.

"I bequeth my soull to Allmeghte God to our lady sanct Mary and to all the holy compeny of Heven " and burial in churchyard of Barton in the Cley. To the high altar 4d. for tithes forgotten. To wife Jone for life his copyhold house and all that belongs to it, reversion to his son Richard, and should Richard die without lawful issue then it is to revert to testator's daughter Joan, and she is to give to testator's other three daughters 13s. 4d. each, and each of the three daughters to be heirs of the money left to the others. Residue to wife Jone, and she to be executrix, and Thomas Childe executor with Richard Huckell overseer. Witnesses Richard Lawndes priest, William Cowper and William Robynson.
