Scope and Content
Being in "good mynde to godward" "bequeth my soull to God Allmeghtie for to be in the compeny of heven" and burial in the churchyard of St. James in Bedenham "nexte my Frendes".
To mother church of Lincoln 2d., to high altar of Bedenham for tithes forgotten 4d.; to the mending of the street called the High Way in Bedenham where most need is 20d.; to the mending of the trestle arch of the Great Bridge of Bydenham 12d..
To son William Malcote all the indentures [leases] of farms in Bedenham for the remainder of the terms stated in them, and paying the rents, and keeping the covenants as stated in the same indentures.
Residue to son William Malcot to "breng my body to the erth" and to give those in poverty in the town of Bedenham as he thinks best, and son William to be executor.
