- Scope and Content"I bequeth my Soull to Allmeghtie God to our blessed lady sanct Mary and to all the holy compeny in heven" and burial in the churchyard of Our Blessed Lady in Eton. To the high altar for tithes forgotten 4d.. To the mother church of Lincoln 2d.. To his son's daughter Ann Baryff two 2 year old bullocks and 3 quarters of malt, and these are to be in the custody of Master Stocker and testator's wife Agnes until "the tyme the maden cum to xv yeres of age and yff yt fortune the mayden to dye before that tyme then I will the goodes be sold and the money thereoff to be geven to a preste to sing in Eton churche at the seght of my executors to pray for my Soull my wyffes soull and all cristen soulles". To his son's child Thomas Baryff testator's best brass pot and best brass pan. All his goods and chattels to wife Agnes and son John to occupy together, and they are to divide the crop or the corn between them by the bushel. Wife to have her dwelling in testator's house where he now dwells for her lifetime while she remains single, and during that time she can cut and lop trees and other wood for her fire boot. "so that it be Resonable taken and in season". Should either John or Agnes sell any horse or ox or other cattle then they are to divide the proceeds. Should Agnes remarry then she is to have for her part 2 beasts and 6 acres of barley. Executors wife Agnes and John Stocker and he to have 20d., and son John supervisor. Witnesses Gylbert Hatley, Richard Brayse, John Kechen, Thomas Alcocke vicar.
