Letter from Agnes Martha Anne Miles of 17 Wordsworth Avenue, Cardiff to Frederic Tanqueray concerning the estate of the late Mary Haddock Miles… 'I am deeply grieved to have to inform you that our dear mother passed away at 2.30pm today. I am going to ask you to do us a great favour. Our dearest mother has been very seriously ill for the last six weeks, & we are decidedly short of money, could you make us an advance of £50 upon the money she has left in your charge? We do not wish to sell out the shares at a loss which would probably be the case if done immediately. We do hope you will be so very good as to grant us this request, as we are in great trouble just now - Also could you very kindly send us an immediate reply? Perhaps I ought to state that there are two of us: my Sister:- Elizabeth Sarah Miles, & my self:- Agnes Martha Anne Miles'
