Letter from Mr. R.H. Rushforth, solicitor for Amersham Union, Buckinghamshire to FredericTanqueray... 'The Assessment Committee have had this matter under further consideration and they instruct me to say that owing to the probability of successful objections being made to the assessment on technical points they have decided to withdraw from the appeal and have given instructions for the assessment to be reduced to the figures at which it stood before the assessment was altered namely gross rateable £25. At the same time I am to inform you that the Assessment Committee will shortly give instructions for a supplemental list to be made out increasing the assessment as they are satisfied that the assessment ought to be much increased and they are now as above stated withdrawing from the proceedings only on the ground of the technical difficulties and not because they consider that the present assessment is too high'.
