Letter from John H. Broughton of Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire to Mr. C.P. Hall: - I gave Mr. Ellen, Mr. Brown, Mr. Flint & Mr. Attenborough the information and they saw my assessment and the river. - Mr. Ellen maintains that no deduction from gross value is needed. - Mr. Attenborough said if they had reclaimed the gross at £200 and left the rateable at £100 they would stand a better chance. - Mr. Brown thought if they had put the gross at £150 at first and allowed for expenses it would have been better. - Mr. Flint could not agree with Mr. Ellen and appeared to be very complicated in his opinion.
