Letter from Thomas Best, clerk of Fenny Stratford Urban District Council to Frederic Tanqueray of Woburn, solicitor… 're. Brook, Water Eaton Road, Mr. Joseph Hammond's complaint. With reference to your letter of the 8th instant I am directed to say that the Council has recently executed extensive works of sewerage and sewage disposal for the purpose of removing the sewage from the brook to which you refer. As a matter of fact a large quantity of sewage which in the past found its way into the brook has now been turned into the new sewers and the condition of the brook has thereby been vastly improved. In a very short time the whole of the new sewage connections will have been completed and all the sewage of the district will then pass to the new works. With respect to the complaint as to the spueing up of sewage from the new sewers on Mr. Hammond's land steps have been taken to prevent this in future'.
