Letter from R.Vivian Martin in Stockport [Cheshire] to Peter John Squire, Headmaster of Bedford Modern School (notepaper has a drawing of his house, Willshaw in Whitenough]:
- he wished to leave £1,000 to the school to fund the Guy Martin Memorial Prize; Guy being his brother, who died during World War One [see AU10/92/1];
- Guy had been in the First XV and Gym Team;
- his other brother M.V.Martin and himself were pupils at the school (the writer from 1911 to 1916) during the headmastership of C[ecil] W[illiam]Kaye
