Copy letter from Frederic Tanqueray of Woburn, Beds to Mr. Frederick Titmas… 'I have had an opportunity of seeing my clients on your contra account. They dispute same but rather than take proceedings against you I am, without prejudice, to say that if you will pay the difference between the two accounts namely £8/14/9 within one week from this date I am to accept this amount in settlement - otherwise I am to proceed against you for the recovery of the full amount due and to contest your contra account'.
