    Letter from Edward Fielder in West Kilburn [Middlesex] to Andrew Underwood: - he did not know where the organ in Ampthill church had come from, it used to stand on the floor on the chancel when he was a boy; - the font used to stood near the door and gallery stair case and was later moved to a position in which the Sunday School used to sit; - he was christened and confirmed in the church; - to get to Bedford one took the train (10d return on Saturdays, 8d otherwise) or carrier's cart on a Wednesday or Saturday morning for 6d, Henry Walker was the carrier, later [Samuel?] Woodcraft; - he would like Andrew Underwood's book on Ampthill Church; in the churchyard two tombstones carried quotes from Shakespeare - Charles Rushbrooke and Lord Wensleydale
