Scope and Content
'I hope you feel it wise to tell the planning people that I want to get on with the sale of my land as soon as is possible, as, at my age (70), I, naturally, want to be able to retire which I cannot do until this land question is settled up. The letter from the allotment society should certainly help. The question of my accepting surrender of some of the allotment land can be left open until you have had a talk with the planning office. As you made no mention about any progress regarding the completion of the sale of the land in Spring Road, I rang up Tebbs and he told me that he had heard that the people concerned thought there should be some allowance for the alterations of the boundary which, I understand, is incorporated in a new plan you have supplied to Tebbs'.
