Letter from Charles H.Matthews to Sir Albert Richardson: "With reference to my telephone conversation with you yesterday afternoon, I have this day written to Mrs.Houfe confirming that we are making our visit to Avenue House on Wednesday, 14th. August, as you asked. We shall arrive at 2.30 p.m. and hope that this will be convenient. I shall be bringing with me the pencil drawing of Ampthill House, dated 1860, that the late Sir Anthony gave to me, for you to see. The exhibition that I have staged at the local Library (Loughborough) of my collection of photographs of Old Loughborough, originally advertised to be on display from the 6th. to the 20th. July, has been extended twice and is now to close on Saturday, the 10th. August. I am very pleased indeed that my Exhibition has received so much attention locally. We are looking forward very much to our visit to Avenue House".
