    Folio 174d - Richard Day of Sowthyevell, husbandman, made 18 Mar. 1545/6, pr. 11 June 1546. Burial within the church yard of Sowthyevell. To the high altar there 2s.; to the repair and mending of the high ways where his executors shall think most necessary 2s.; to the poor people living in Sowthyevell 2s.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the torches 8d.. To wife for her life the house where testator lives, then to go to testator's son Richard with the land that belongs to the same house. Wife and children to occupy together his farm at Brome for the term of testator's lease, and any profit to be divided between them, both cattle and grain, the seed grain only deducted and excepted. To son William testator's house standing in the Weste End. To son Thomas the house that Mathew Davye dwells in. To son John at age 20 seven quarter of barley. To son Robert at age 19 seven quarter of barley. To son Henry at age 18 seven quarter of barley. Should any of his four youngest children die before they come to the age stipulated, then the others to be their heirs. Residue to wife Elene his executor with William Lenton senior as supervisor "trusteing that she will be good mother to hir childern and myne". The other executor to be John Smyth, he to have 6s. 8d.. Witnesses John Stevens, sir Edward Colman priest, Jone Webe.
