    Folio 166 - Thomas Weste senior of Wypsnad in county of Bedford, yeoman, made 8 May pr. 8 June 1546. Testament Burial in the church of Mary Magdalene of Wypsnad "at my seattes ende". To the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar of Wypsnad for tithes forgotten 8d.; to the maintenance of the same church 3s. 4d.. He asks that 6d. a piece is to be given to 5 priests who are to be at testator's burial and they to pray for souls of his good friends and of all Christians. Three priests are to say mass at his month's day for 6d. a piece. To the light before the Sacrament a pound of wax. To every godchild 4d.. To son Thomas Weste £3 6s. 8d.; to son Henry Weste £3 6s. 8d.; to son Mathew West £3 6s. 8d.; to daughter Ellyn £3 6s. 8d.; to daughter Mary £3 6s. 8d., and the daughters' money is to be paid on the day of their marriages and the sons' money at the age of 21, if they will be ruled by their mother. The money of any child dying before they receive their legacy is to be divided among the survivors. Wife Ezabell is to keep a year's mind in the parish church of Wypsnade for twelve years, at 3s. 4d. a time. Wife to have the farm which testator now dwells in for the remainder of his lease. Residue to wife Ezabell who is executrix with Robert Bawdwen the elder of Eggington in Leighton Boserd, he to have for his labour 6s. 8d.. Will in which he can dispose of all his lands and tenements in Dagnall in parish of Edysborow in the county of Bucks., and in Wypsnade and Stodham in the county of Bedford. Wife Izabell to enjoy them for the term of her life, and on her death the lands and other premises in Dagnall to remain to John West testator's eldest son, and to his heirs male, and should John West die without heirs male, then the property to revert to testator's next male heir. Should there be no male heirs then the property is to be sold by testator's feoffees and executors and the money divided between his surviving daughters. Concerning lands and tenements in Wypsnad the testator's widow to hold them for her natural life, and on her death they are to descend to son Thomas Weste to him and his assigns for ever charged with the payment of £6 13s. 4d. to testator's son John West the younger within two years of the death of testator's widow, but if the lands should come to John Weste the younger, then the £6. 13s. 4d. to be divided between sons Henry and Mathew Weste., and also to son Henry West £5. To youngest son Mathew West £5. His sons to be heirs of each other.
