    Folio 143 - William Edwardes, husbandman, of Carleton, made 18 Mar. 1545/6, pr. 7 Apr. 1546. "I bequeth my soull unto Allmeghtie God and to all the blessed compeny in heven". Burial in churchyard of Carleton by his friends. To the Sacrament light 6d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; for a priest to pray for testator's soul in the church of Carleton 10s.; to five priests on the day of his burial 20d; to the parson of the town 12d.; to be given to poor people on the day of his burial 16 dozen of bread. To his son Richard a cow and a bullock; to son Henry a cow, a bullock and 4 sheep; to daughter Alys a cow, a bullock, 4 sheep 2 of the best brass pans and a brass pot. To daughter-in-law Ezabell a cow and 2 sheep. Residue to be divided amongst all his children, and "that they se yerely to be done in the churche of Carleton for my soull 2s.". Executors sons William Edwardes and John Edwardes, and Master the parson to be supervisor. Witnesses John Cowper, William Bytherey, Richard Grene, Richard Michell.
