To the church for breaking the ground for his grave 6s. 8d.; for his mortuary according to the statutes and laws; to the bells in Potton church 12d.; to the Sepulchre light; "for the waste of waxe to be spent at my month mynd and beryall" 12d.. Executors to bestow at his burial 26s. 8d. and at his month day 13s. 4d.. To wife Margret the household stuff she brought the day of their marriage, also 4 milch kine and 20 sheep. To daughter Elzabeth two copyhold houses lying in the Market sometime Water Worlege's, to her and her heirs for ever. To his son Henry Manley a featherbed, a bolster and a pillow, a white coverlet, a mattress, a bolster and a coverlet, a great brass pot and a little brass pot, the best cupboard in the great parlour at Potton, the second folding table, a joined form, a great chest bound with iron, a bedstead with "seling over it" (wainscotting or panelling), a "bedcloth" of red and yellow and three curtains belonging to the same bed, a bedstead in the same chamber adjoining to the same parlour, and hangings of red and yellow silk with it, two bedsteads and 2 great painted coffers being in testator's chamber and in the chamber over it, a broad planked table, a joined form and a settle in the hall, a little table in the hall by the fire side, and a shelf over it, an iron bar, 2 great iron pins, 3 long iron hooks in the hall chimney, a great powdering trough in the little house by the kitchen, a moulding table, a quern, a lead, a malt ark, a bolting "tunne" in the kitchen and a sealed bushel bound with iron, and two bedsteads in the new lofts. Should Henry die before the age of 24, then the above bequests to be divided between testator's other children then living, and also Cecyly Manly who is the daughter of testator's son Richard. To the said Cecily Manley the best mattress and bolster, a coverlet, two brass pots, the best folding table and the second cupboard, 2 painted coffers, a great brass pan and 6 cushions. To daughter Elzabeth Manly a featherbed, a bolster with hangings over it, the second coverlet with 6 bedsteads at the messuage called "The Sygne of the George" in Potton, if there can be so many found , with hangings to them, a mattress, a bolster, a coverlet, 2 brass pots, a spit with cob irons belonging to it, a table, a black "howse" and a form, a mattress and a bolster, a coverlet with sheets and bedcloth, a coffer, a brass pot, and 6 pieces of pewter. Residue to be divided between his children. As to his messuages, lands and tenements in Potton, Temmysford and Everton: To wife Margaret for life the copyhold messuage and appurtenances in Potton where testator lives once John Talers, with a close of pasture adjoining and a piece of meadow in Potton called Skutters mead, sometime John Pilgrammes, and on her death these properties are to go to son Henry Manly and his heirs. Henry and his heirs are to have also the freehold meassuage in Potton called The George with all the lands appurtaining to it which testator bought of Reynold Techemarsh, and also a close of pasture called Crokes Close To son John Manley and his heirs a copyhold close in Potton sometime called Richard Fisshers abutting in Deane End called Sheppecot Close. To son Henry Manley and his heirs the freehold farm in Wrastelingworth with the lands, closes and pastures as purchased of William Slowe; 2 messuages with their appurtenances one once Pilgrammes and the other once Jhones Benettes; 2 closes and 15 acres arable land in Cockeing Hatley sometime John Gotobedes; Executors are to sell testator's cottage or messuage with 2 roods of land which testator purchased of John Huckell and the close bought of Richard Claye in order to pay Alanus Daland. Testator's obit of 8s. is to be charged on Cotton Howse, and until son Henry Manley comes to full age the house to be used by son William Manley, clerk. Executors are to have the ordering and guiding of children still under age His supervisors to be a counsel to executors concerning the ordering of his children. To son Henry Manley and his heirs all messuages and lands in Temmysford and Dunton in the county of Bedford. To John Manfild testator's short furred gown. To Master William Manley the long furred gown and the sleeveless jacket. To wife Margret all the wood in the foreyard. Executors to be son Master William Manley and John Colbecke gentleman, each to have 3s. 4d., and the supervisors to be Water Worlege (to whom 13s. 4d.), John Hawkinges (to whom 10s.) and William Mayes (to whom 10s.) Witnesses Thomas Fetherston clerk, Water Worlege, Alanus Daland and others.
