Folio 108d - William Grome of Hockelyff, made 1 Oct. 1542, pr. 14 Oct. 1545 Burial in the parish church yard of Hockelyffe. To mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to the Trinity in the same church 4d.; to the torches and the bells 8d.. To each of his children 3s. 4d. to be paid when their mother may do so conveniently. To son Richard a land of beans and a land of barley. Residue to wife Agnes, who is to be an executrix with son John executor, overseer William Halsey. Son James to occupy the farm with his mother as long as they can agree. Witnesses sir George Edward curate, Nicholas Grome, John Seling and John Umonte.
