    Folio 73 - William Kylbe of Luton made 4 May 1545 pr. 23 July 1545. Burial in the church of Luton"as night unto my Seate as may be". To mother church of Lincoln 6d.; to the high altar of Luton for tithes forgotten 12d.. To his daughter's child Jone Perat in money £5, and to her sister Elizabeth Perat 33s. 4d. in money at the age of 18, and should either sister die then the survivor to inherit both sums. To daughter Jone the wife of Richard Crawley 6s. 8d. to be paid after the death of testator's wife Julyan. Testator's son-in-law John Smyth to have the oversight and guiding of John Perat (testator's daughter's son) and all his house and lands until John Perat come to the age of 21 years. Testator's wife Jelian to have house where testator dwells so long as she remains single, After death of wife then his son-in-law John Smyth to have it, and after death of John Smyth his son George Smyth to have the house to hold to him and the heirs of his body for ever. John Smyth to pay to Elene Nele and to Alys Nele, the children of testator's daughter, 20s. a piece when they come to the age of 20 years, and should either die before the age of 18 years, then their brother John Perat to have their legacy, and if both Elene and Alys die, then their brother John Perat to have both legacies. Should all three grandchildren die before the years when they are to get their legacies, then the money to remain with testator's executors. The rent of 5 acres of land is to be used to keep an annual obit in the church of Luton for ever for souls of testator, his friends and all Christians, at 3s. 4d.. For the repairs to Luton church 6s. 8d.. Executors to bestow at his burial 33s. 4d. and at his month tide 33s. 4d.. Residue to wife Jelyan, executrix and to John Smyth, son in law, executor, who are to do for souls and testator, his friends and all Christians, as they shall think expedient.
