To the high altar for tithes forgotten 3s. 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to the upkeep of Luton church 3s. 4d.; to the church of Luton a hundred pounds of lead and certain timber to the value of 12s., which was delivered for the repair of the Vestry. At her burial she wishes to have a dirige and 3 masses solemnly sung in the church of Luton, with the whole choir, and at her month's tide the same. To the upkeep of the church of Cadington 3s. 4d.. To each of her four daughters in money £3 6s. 8d., and to each of the children of her four daughters 12d.. To her servant Alys Harryson a mattress, a pair of sheets, a bolster and a pillow. To the wife of Thomas Welles of Toternoo testator's second gown. She wishes an honest priest to sing for souls of her husband and herself and all Christians in Luton church for a whole yere for £6. To daughter Alys Rotheram all the hangings about the chamber next the hall. To Katering Steppeng wife of Thomas Steppenge her best kirtle save one. To every child of her 4 daughters a flaxen sheet. To the mending of the high way between the Townes Ende of Luton and Clampattes Dell 13s. 4d., and of the way between Whyte Hill and Auley/Anley Dell where most need is 6s. 8d. To daughter Jone Barbor a brazen mortar with a "stampell". To her daughters Jone and Elzabeth her great "Rygged" kettle to be used by both of them. To son-in-law Thomas Wellys half an acre of land lying upon Ramford Hill. Residue to be divided between her four daughters at the discretion of her executors who are Roger Barber the younger, and Thomas Wellys testator's son-in-law, each to have 20s., the supervisor to be Thomas Perat of the Vyne, and he to have 6s. 8d. Should her executors or their successors be at any time troubled because of her husband's or her own last will, or because of any bargain or sale, indenture, feoffment, bond, or any act done by William Welshe, her late husband, then George Rotherham and Thomas Steven her sons-in-law or their heirs shall each pay half the charges incurred, and the sons-in-law are both to be bound in the sum of £30 each for performance of the premises, the bonds to be made out before either they or their wives or children receive any legacy under this will, and if they refuse to be so bound then their respective legacies to remain with her executors.
