  • Title
    Folio 1 - Thomas Churche of Pabenham made 20 Feb 1542/3, pr. 5 July 1543. Burial in the church or churchyard of Pavenham. To the high altar 20d.; to the Sepulchre light 12d.; to the bells 12d.. A lamp is to be kept burning every Sunday and holy day before the Holy Sacrament for ever at the high mass, to fund which testator has given into the hands of John Churche certain meadow ground, three roods and 6 "Fowtes" in Herdelford Mede in Steventon Dole, the third dole. A priest is to sing for the souls of testator, his father and mother, and all Christians for a year. An arch is to be made at Stafforde Brege. To daughter Elzabeth Mody a cow and to every one of her children 2 bushel of barley. To Thomas Churche the cow that he has in his keeping. To Swatson's child and to Child's child two bushel of barley. To every godchild a bushel of barley. To Rose Wright a weaning calf. "Exeques" and mass to be kept yearly for testator's soul. Residue to wife Alys, executrix, and overseers to be Reynolde Bray esquire and Lawrence Mody. Witnesses sir John Franche curate, Thomas Smyth, John Churche.
