- she married D.H.Welch on 5 Oct 1943 at Ampthill and later remarried and lived abroad, though later returning to England;
- his brother was Max and a picture of the two stood on the window sill behind the choir stalls;
- his parents used to live at 61 Bedford Street and his father was a local government officer, Douglas attended Bedford Modern School;
- [Commonwealth War Graves Commission shows he was a Warrant Officer (Pilot) in 427 (RCAF) squadron, RAFVR at the time of his death and that his parents were Harold and Beatrice Eleanor]
