Court held in church of Bedford St. Paul 15 Jan. 1539/40.
Bedford Joanna Burre has given birth to a child on the vigil of St. Nicholas the Bishop , and swears that Thomas Fyssher knew her carnally in the third week of Quadragesimo. She was ordered to do public penance on two Sundays round the churchyard of St. Paul's church in Bedford, which was done. The man took flight and it is not know to what place.
