    [f. 20] (see also ABP/R 6 f. 28d) Richard Knight of Harlington, husbandman, made 1540, proved 7 July 1540. Burial in church yard of Harlington; to high altar for tithes forgotten 20d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to the Sepulchre light 20d.; to the bells 12d.. To his wife a house as long as she remains single, also 5 acres of barley and 5 acres of pease, a featherbed, 2 platters and a kettle, a brass pot, and 2 "shootes"(pres. shoit, a young pig). For his burial, his month's day and year day 30s., that is 10s. each day. He has surrendered into the hands of Richard Tuffenall and John Ryngsted his copyholding to the use of his son Thomas. To son George £10, an acre of barley and an acre of pease, the payment of the £10 to be £5 the first payment, and then as they are able. To daughter Elyner 40s.. To son Thomas 40s.; 2 acres of barley and an acre of pease to keep him. To daughter Alys 40s., 2 acres of barley and an acre of pease, to keep her. To daughter Elzabeth 2 acres of barley and 2 acres of pease, to keep her. To brother William 10s. for his painstaking; to Richard Hawkinges 20d.. Residue to the use of his children. Executors to be sir Thomas James the vicar and testator's brother William. Witnesses William Mathew, John Carpendor, John Masshe, John Ryngsted, [blank] Tuffenall.
