- Title[f. 10d] (see also ABP/R 6 f. 13) Jone Pepyat, Sondon, made 6 March 1539/40, proved 22 March 1539/40. Burial in the church of Sondon before the altar of St. Nicholas next to her husband. To mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to the high altar of Sondon 12d.; to the upkeep of the bells 2s.; to the "wayste" of the torches at her burial 12d.; to the breaking of the ground in the church where she shall lie 6s. 8d.. To her maid Agnes a featherbed, a mattress, 2 blankets, a bolster, 2 pillows and the pillow beres for the same, "of the best that I have", 2 coverlets (one of the best, and the other of the coarsest), 4 pair of sheets, "one shalle that wiche was my cristenynge shete", a table cloth and a towel with blue threads, a bason and a "laver", half a dozen platters, 2 saucers, a salt cellar and a candlestick, a brass pot and a great black pan that is at Richard Pepyatt's, and an other here, which she will, the best coffer and 10 quarters of malt, a table and a chair stool, a spit and a pair of cobirons, all to Agnes "yff God send hir lyffe and will be Rewled aftur hir Frendes, I will she inyoe them". If it please God to take Agnes "owt of this world" then half to go to Agnes' brother Robert, and the other half "to be bestowed for hir father and hir and her Frendes". Should Robert die, then that half to go to Richard Pepyat. To Richard Pepyat testator's standards and her great spit and her greatest pan. To Richard's wife testator's gold ring; to each godchild 20d.. To her maid Agnes her cow. To Nicholas Buckmaster her mazer and her greatest spit save one. To each of Nicholas' children a sheep "of the same that he hayth all redy to kepe". The said Richard [sic] Buckmaster to sell testator's ox that he has, and he is to give of the money arising 6s. 8d. to Wyng church, and the rest of the money to remain to the said Nicholas and his wife. To Buckmaster's wife testator's best gown, and to Jone Smyth her best girdle. To Cristian Burre her best beads, her little gown, her red coat and 4 quarters of barley that she owes to testator. To Thomas Pepyat and to Robert Pepyat his brother 2 acres of barley each. To Jone Chylde a great pewter charger. To Hatton's wife testator's russet kirtle, her petticoat and a smock. Residue to Richard Pepyat, executor, with Nicholas Buckmaster overseer. Witnesses William Stawford, Richard Hebbes and sir John Walter vicar.
