- TitleLetter from Lawrence Birch at Fisherton Delamere House, Wiley, Bath [Somerset] to John Thomas Green: "I hardly know How the compensation began. I am afraid that it is my fault as I imagined that a Trustee could not act for himself and share the commission. The Solicitor to a considerable Trust in which I am concerned wrote to me "I suppose that you wish the proceedings passed through your Brokers Bank". To which I answered "Yes" thinking that it must eventually pass through a Broker. The Paragraph in my letter of 20th had no reference in any way to the Conversion of Consols as I think you will see from the context. The time was short and I thought it must be done at once. Most certainly I did not intend in any way to slight you or your office".
