"In the two Deeds under Mr.Morris will of which we are Trustees , part of the Funds consist of Consols and new 3% Now under Mr.Goschen's scheme we shall have to decide whether we accept the new 2 3/4% Stock, or elect to be paid off at par. For my own part I see no other course than to accept the fresh Stock but I think it would be well if you would write to Mr.Upcher and to Mr.Birch on the subject as we must take action before the end of the month"
