- TitleLetter from John Latham at Congleton [Cheshire] to John Thomas Green: "Is there no chance of this purchase being completed as proposed by a Conveyance from the Trustees and a Deed of Confirmation by the Mortgagee? I return the Conveyance which you will see has been executed by both Trustees and surely a Deed of Confirmation by the Mortgagee would complete the purchaser's title. The non-completion of this purchase is causing considerable trouble and expense and is a stumbling block in the way of Miss Cobb's affairs being wound up. Mr.Henry Latham & I also will join in a Bond for the repayment of the purchase money and interest should the purchaser be called upon to pay it which I consider is most unlikely in fact could not legally be done. Mr.Cobb had never been asked to sign the second Conveyance and I do not think he would do so now as he requires money and there is none for him. Circumstances are different to what they were when he signed all the other Deeds. Mr.Cobb has been paid more than his share and his application for money was not complied with before he was required to sign the fresh Conveyance. The sale of the White Bear was by the Mortgagee and I really cannot see that you need have any fear as to the result. Will you give the matter your consideration. Re Fowler Have you any costs for me herein?"
