- TitleLetter from John Latham in Congleton [Cheshire] to John Thomas Green: "Before Mr.Cobb went abroad he gave his Co-trustee a power of attorney [see HN10/274/Hopkins1] to act for him. I enclose as a loan copy of such power of attorney from which you will see that as far as Mr.Cobb could he wished his co-trustee to carry out the sales &c. His co-trustee is willing to act thereunder if it will be of any assistance to you in bringing about a settlement of this matter. The power of attorney is in force & the original is with Messrs King & Wm Cane as they wished to file same on a surrender of copyhold property by Mr.Henry Latham on behalf of himself & C.trustee. I don't see what can delay this completion. With regard to stamping the Conveyance I will give an undertaking to or will pay the penalty if such penalty is necessary but why could not the Deed be stamped now as it is not dated & was not intended to take effect until completion. Please let me hear from you".
