Letter from W.F.Cable at Toddington to Frederic Thomas Tanqueray: "Miss Clarke has asked me to send you the names of the persons who owe her some money for rent and who are living in the Cottages in the Harlington Road which was sold a few weeks ago. Sharp & Hart will pay. As to the others they will not if they are not compelled to do so. Fitch perhaps cannot she has owed this some time. Major is in good work won't pay any one. Odell is in regular work, ought to pay, but is careless and don't care. Buckingham is not in regular work, but most of what he gets goes in drink. Some of the money may be paid between now and the 29th of September as I am trying to press them a little. There are two other persons who owe Miss Clarke some money. John Horley 4/6, John Smith £1.8.0 these two live in Mr.Johnston's Cottages in earl's Court Yard. Horley perhaps may pay but Smith won't. I enclose a list of names and the amounts of each. Horley & Smith are not Miss Clarke's tenants now but they were her tenants before Mr.Johnston had the Cottages. If the list I have sent is not sufficient and not what you require, I will give you all the information I am able if you will let me know what you want"
