Mortgage i) Arthur Staunton Wade Gery, Shefford, gentleman ii) Fifth East Beds Benefit Building Society reciting - i) as one of the members of the Society is entitled to receive £320 5s in respect of 6 shares in the Society Now in consideration of £350 5s paid by ii) to i) i) conveys to ii): - such parts of lands at Langford as shown on plan and specified in schedule as are freehold (piece no 11) - 1r 32p portion of piece numbered 10 to be held by ii) subject to proviso for redemption Also i) covenants with ii) to surrender into hands of the Lord of the Manor of Langford: - land in Langford (part of no 10) (2a) as is copyhold Power of sale in case of default of payments to ii) for four months No lease to be made without consent of ii) Also ii) may, if they think fit, insure the property for £300 against fire, and i) will repay the premium With schedule [as above] signature of i) witness William Stonebridge, clerk to Mr Arthur Wade Gery, Shefford With receipt dated 1st May 1899, signed by Henry VanderVord, Secretary, and embossed seal of the East Beds Benefit Building Society for all money due.
