    Draft will of Maria Thorp of Aspley Guise, spinster [much annotated; annotation included below]: - Frederic Thomas Tanqueray of Woburn, gentleman and Frederick Bassett of Leighton Buzzard, banker to be executors and trustees; - £50 to British & Foreign Bible Society; - £50 to Caroline Sophia Slee; - £100 to her servant Martha Keens and £100 to her sister Harriet Keens; - £50 to each of her executors; - £500 to her trustees to invest and pay interest to Martha and Harriet Keens for their lives; - four china mugs on the whatnot in the drawing room which "belonged to out grandparents when resident in London" to Frederic Shewell Corder; - to Martha Keens the furniture in her bedroom and such items in the kitchen which would be marked or listed by the testatrix; - all plate, drawings, photographs, pictures, jewellery and ornaments of the person in equal shares to her cousins, children of late Thomas Corder as living at her decease; - residue to executors for sale/conversion to money with one eight share to children of her late cousin Elizabeth Spence, remaining seven eighths to be shared equally between her cousins, children of Thomas Corder; - "I desire my Said Executors in the Division of my Residuary personal estate to avoid as far as possible any sales by Auctions of my personal effects but if one is found to be unavoidable to remove such effects for the purpose to some convenient spot at a distance from Aspley Guise"; one ninth of the proceeds to be invested for the benefit of Elizabeth, widow of Thomas Corder for her life, remainder to her daughter Mary Elizabeth Downing
