    i) Lovel Smeathman, Great Missenden, Bucks, surgeon ii) John Gray, Luton, brewer iii) Ann Belshaw, High Town, Luton, straw manufacturer iv) Samuel Toyer, Luton, Straw manufacturer reciting: release of 25 January 1844: a) John Crichton Stuart, Marquis of Bute b) John Gray c) George Gregory by which a plot of land in Luton, formerly part of a close of pasture was conveyed to use of b) or to c) in trust for b) reciting release by way of mortgage of 15 August 1846: 1) John Gray 2) Lovel Smeathman 1) released to 2) - said piece of land - messuages erected thereon by 1) subject to redemption on payment of £6000 and interest at 5% p.a. by 1) to 2) Said sum of £6000 is still owing together with arrears of interest ii) has agreed to sell piece of land to iii) for £49 2s 8d which is to be paid to i) in part satisfaction of his mortgage debt Now in consideration of £49 2s 8d at request of ii) paid to i) by iii) i) at request of ii) conveys to iii): - piece of ground in Peel Street S W ii) N W land lately sold by ii) to John Coplestone N E Peel Street S E the Bute Arms in possession of ii) (4p 14 yds) and shown in plan in margin with liberty for iii) to pass over Mayes Lane and Peel Street iv) to be trustee for iii) if necessary ii) agrees to produce above mentioned deeds if required iii) covenants that for next 21 years she will not erect a house other than with a front elevation similar to houses in the same street, the property of ii), or with a lesser value than £200 signatures of all endorsed receipt witnesses William Hunt, sol, Luton Frederick Charsley
