    Abstract of the title of the trustees of the will of John Copleston, reciting: (I) Deed of 29 July 1848 i) Lovel Smeathman, Great Missenden, Bucks, surgeon ii) John Gray, Luton, brewer iii) John Copleston, High Town, Luton, manufacturer iv) Samuel Toyer, Luton, straw manufacturer By release of 25 January 1844 made between the Marquis of Bute, ii) and George Gregory, a plot of land was conveyed to use of ii) for ever consideration - £49 2s 8d i) at request of ii) conveyed to iii): - piece of land in Peel Street S W ii) N W also ii) N E Peel Street S E land lately sold by ii) to Ann Belshaw (4p 14 yds) (as shown on plan) - right of way over Peel Street Covenant (as in X815/6/1) (II) X815/6/1 (III) Deed of 25 June 1850 a) John Copleston b) John Jones, Luton, gentleman Jeffrey Lucas, Hitchin, Herts, banker Frederick Brown, Luton, ironmonger William Hiram Higgins, Luton, Straw hat manufacturer (trustees of the Luton Benefit Building Society) a) was a member of the Society and had subscribed for 2å shares numbered 208, 176 and 192 (total £300) in consideration of £230 paid to a) by b) a) appointed: - above premises - messuage - fixtures to b) subject to trusts concerning the same Power of sale in case of default Memorandum of satisfaction of above monies, 20 May 1856 As to addition of 15ft 9 in to garden: (IV) Agreement of 28 March 1859 [see X 815/5/7] As to the whole: (V) Will of John Copleston of 9 August 1858 Samuel Toyer and James Lewin appointed trustees and executors to wife, Sophia Copleston - his messuage in Peel Street after death of wife, property to trustees for sale. (VI) Codicil of 19 June 1876 by which George Charles Gostelow Lockhart was substituted in place of Samuel Toyer, deceased. Sophia Copleston also appointed trustee and executor of the will (VII) John Copleston died on 4 March 1880 (VIII) Probate 2 November 1880 (PPR) (IX) Death of James Lewin on 17 June 1886 (X) Appointment of new trustee of 26 May 1898 by which Thomas Cox was substituted in place of James Lewin (XI) Death of Sophia Copleston on 1 December 1899 (XII) Letters of Administration (with will and codicil annexed) of John Copleston, deceased, granted by PPR to Arthur Copleston, son of testator.
