From Ethel Swaffield in Calcutta to her sister, Kitty. Thanks for letter, received five that morning, just before landed at Bombay letters she had written ready to post had been taken from her case. Glad not staying in Bombay doesn't like it as much as Calcutta. Details of the train journey from Bombay 'the stations are few and far between...the trains go at a feaful speed'. Tells how she spends the day and the food they serve at breakfast 'as it is not a bit like an English one'. 'Today has not seemed a bit like Sunday I didn't go to church...outside men have been playing cricket and tennis all the afternoon and evening and the natives have all been at work just the same as yesterday...' Glad to hear Kitty working hard at school 'I don't suppose you will be at school much longer'
