Letter from James Horwood of Winstanley & Horwood of 10 Paternoster Row, London to John Thomas Green: "I send a short epitome of act as to the payment by us of £22.10.0 (which by the way should have had P.Tax c C2 deducted which it had not Viz. 3/9) - to Messrs Peed on 11th November 1875. On 11 Novr/75 Received a letter from Mr.Christian as to an application from Messrs Peed for Rent. Vide his letter 1 herewith with the letter is Peed's application 2 to Christian dated 10 Nov 1876. I wrote to Messrs Peed 11 Novr. & enclosed Cheque 3 vide copy &c. herewith Messrs Peed acknowledged receipt following day vide their letter 4 with stamp receipt. So that they would appear to have received the 1/2 Year Rent twice but you will observe that according to your payments to them they had one quarter 5 Aug/75 & the other 14 Octr & so had received both of you before they wrote to Christian!!"
