Letter from W.J.Tranah of Gathercole & Tranah, architects and surveyors of 113 Fenchurch Street, London to William Henry Smith: "Herewith I beg to hand your Cheque for £8.15.0 Interest due Septr 29/73 as to property Belmore St. Wandsworth Road as promised. With regard to the latter portion of your note of the 7th inst. I trust that you will not as at present time put Mrs.Wakelin to the heavy expenses connected therewith (foreclosing mortgage) as she is quite unprepared to meet them. I am happy to say the property has improved since being placed in my hands and trust to be able to remit the interest as soon as due in the future. Your client is perfectly secure both as to Interest and principal as I purpose forming a sinking fund for the purpose of meeting the requirements of the Mortgage trusting this will meet your views. P.S. I shall shortly have a good investment should any of your Friend have any surplus Capital to invest and will Forward you particulars. The ground rent is paid up to Septr 29/1873"
