Letter from Elizabeth King at Oxton [Cheshire] to John Green: "It will be all right about the Deed, we expect to be away a month or five weeks, we shall start early on Wednesday, intending to stop at Dover. I always look forward to this journey as a rest to Vincent, he has just had two hard days with the Rifle Association at Altcar, indeed we have all worked hard for Katie and I have been over there by 10 o'c each day and not home until 9 o'c in the evening as we undertook to sell the Pool Tickets. People who ought to have done this work being too idle to offer their assistance and I am thankful at its being a pleasure to us. Very sorry the fever continues around you. I hope this rain may do good. When the Deed is made deducting the £500 already paid I suppose my letters promising to pay will be destroyed"
