- TitleLetter from Charles H.Tanqueray at 5 Pall Mall East, London to "Uncle" [John Green?] "You are quite right as to the Amounts Aunt King has requested my father to become guarantor for. The £300 paid out on the 1 Jany 76 is the only sum I have deducted from Aunt's money at present for my father paid £200 of the £500 himself. This refers to Uncle Aveling. I cannot give you the dates now of when my father received the money as I have my father's private book at home. I will see tonight & write you tomorrow. I have ascertained from Vine Street today that a sum of £2000 was paid to Uncle John by CT on the 1 July 1864 but whether that was handed direct to my father I cannot say until I have looked at his Ledger. Will you please tell Aunt I forwarded her cheque to Birkenhead to be forwarded as I was not sure of her whereabouts"
