  • Title
Nicol v Swaffield at the High Court of Justice - Queens Bench Division. Copy affidavit of John George Scrmsour Nichol of the Rectory, Ampthill filed on his behalf by Brooks, Jenkins & Co. solicitors: - I was instituted as Rector in 1890 and Swaffield acted as my agent for collecting corn rents until Lady Day 1894. - Swaffield refused to furnish me with particulars and information for the said corn rent and I have suffered pecuniary loss as a result. - I was compelled to issue a writ and under an order of discovery of documents I have obtained information for which this action was initiated and if leave be given to me to administer certain interrogatories to Nichol I shall obtain all further necessary information. - The action was commenced by me because of Swaffield's refusal to furnish me with the particulars and information which as my agent he should have. Sworn in the presence of Mark Whyley, commissioner of oaths.
