Copy letter from F.T. Tanqueray of Woburn to Messrs. May, How & Chilver of 49 Lincolns Inn Fields, solicitors concerning objections against Mr. Lucas for using certain shares and investments as securities in the proposed marriage settlement… 'Mr. Lucas does not feel disposed to face the loss of realizing them at the present time [London & County Bank Shares] merely that they may be included in the settlement and he is using other securities for the purchase of Moreton Manor and has already made his arrangement with regard to them. He tells me that he has mentioned the matter to Lady Duncombe this morning and she acquises in this course being followed. Mr Lucas has given me instructions for a will to be prepared by which he leaves all he possesses to Lady Duncombe for life and afterwards to the children etc. so that the omission from the settlement of the shares will not be very much consequence'. Contains further information on other securities being used by Mr. Lucas.
