    Folio 170 William Fage of Chawlerston in the parish of Roxton, husbandman, made 12 May 1543, proved 2 Sep. 1543. "I William Fage ...being secke and decesed in my body but not withstanding I being of good and perfyte memory dowteing that I shalbe taken owt of this meseable lyffe unto the marcy of god unprovydyt I make and declare this my laste will and testament ... Fyrste I bequeth my soull to almeghtie god my Redemer and savyour besecheing our blessed lady the Virgen Mary and all the holy compeny in heven to be meane for me to the holy trinitie that my soull mey be partaker of the blesse everlasteing". Burial in the church yard of Roxton; to the high altar 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the Roxton bells 4d.. To his wife Margery 2 milch beasts, a bullock and a horse, and she to have her cow and the household stuff she brought with her on marriage. To testator's son's children Katering and William Fage, all his pewter and brass, which is to remain in the custody of testator's wife Margery for her lifetime, and to the children also a pair of sheets each "yff they may be spared". To his son Thomas his best gown, best coat, a cap, a pair of hosen and a hose cloth, and to Thomas' wife a red kirtle. Remainder to his wife Margery, executrix, with Richard Tyngey executor, to whom 12d.. Supervisor Master Thomas Hunt. Witnesses sir William Howght curate, Master Thomas Hunt, John Myton senior.
