    Folio 166d John Watson of Husburne Crowley made 9 Aug. 1543 proved 14 July 1543 [sic]. Burial in the church yard of Husburne Crowley; to every altar in the church 4d.; to the torches 4d.. To his mother for her lifetime testator's house at North Crowley and all appurtenances, except for the grove of wood which he leaves to his son William. To his mother for her lifetime half the house where testator dwells and half the land going with it. The other half of the house and land is left to testator's wife Margret for her life, the survivor of the two having the whole until their own death, when the property is to go to testator's son Robert and the heirs of his body, who is to give his brother William 40s.. To Thomas Hawll and Jone his wife (testator's daughter) the copyhold testator took of Byrdsey for the remaining years, and to the said Jone a "howed" bullock and a "burd logg' " at the Fletchers, and all the boards testator bought for Thomas Hall. To every "man child" a calf, and to every child a sheep. Residue to wife Margret Wysson and to son John Watson, executors. Witnesses sir Richard Byrche vicar, Margret Peche, Agnes Shepperd.
