    Folio 163d John Eme of Kings Houghton made 11 June 1543 proved 10 July 1543. Burial in the church yard of All Hallowes in Houghton; to mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar 4d.; to the torches 4d.; to the bells 4d.. 4 loads of stone to be laid in Bedewell Stret, and 2 loads in the Weste Street of Howghton. To his wife Elzabeth all the lands and meadows in Wynfild Fylde for her lifetime, charged with an annual obit requested in testator's father's will for 2s. 8d., and on her death the land is to go to testator's son John, according to the will of testator's father. To testator's son John his two best coats and the best doublet, and at the age of 18 he is to have a long cart, a dung cart and a plough with the irons belonging to it, and also 10 acres of barley, he to choose an acre, then testator's widow to choose the next, and so on. To daughter Margret 6 quarters of barley on her marriage, a gown that was her own mother's, and certain linen locked in a coffer which also was her mother's (except 3 pair of sheets in the same coffer which are to go to son John). Each child is to be the other's heir, if either die without issue. If both die without issue then wife Elzabeth to use the properties for the soul of testator. To Thomas Whyataker his sleeveless blue coat. To John Whyte his russet sleeved coat. To John Crocker a pair of black hose. To Nicholas Grene a pair of white hose. 2 quarters of barley each to wife's daughters Jane Harding and Elzabeth. To Luce Croker a bushel of barley. To servant Thomas Pybble a black cloth doublet. Residue to wife Elzabeth, his executrix, to use for his soul, together with Richard Webe, his executor, to whom 2s. Witnesses sir John Cowper, Thomas Erme, John Stryngar.
