    Folio 158 William Faldo of Okeley, made 16 Apr. 1542, pr. 10 Sep. 1543. "I bequeth my soull to Almeghtie God". Burial in the church of Ockeley; to the high altar for tithes forgotten 3s. 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to the upkeep of the church and the bells and the other ornaments 6s. 8d.; he leaves 20s. for a priest to sing and pray in the church of Okeley for a quarter of a year for the souls of testator and of those to whom he is bound and of all Christians. His son Richard is to have all his freehold lands, meadows, leys and pastures in the county of Bedford, except for what is jointure of testator's wife Margret, and except also the house and 20 acres of land and meadow which he bought of John Stracheon of Malden, which are to descend to testator's son William. His son Thomas is to have (at the age of 20) the indenture and lease of the parsonage of Okeley with all lands, meadows, leys and pastures which testator holds "by copy" of Master Fytzgeffray, and until the reaches that age the property is to be in the occupation of testator's wife Margret and her assigns. His sons William and Thomas Faldo are to have between them the lease and profits of [?]Bays Wodd during the remainder of the lease. Son William is to have the profit of testator's "patten" which Lord Vauxe gave him. His daughter Mary is to have the 20 marks in money bequeathed to her by the will of her grandfather Henry Pycaud, and she is to have also all the household stuff which Henry Pycaud gave to her in his last will and testament, up to the value of 20 nobles. His dau. Elzabeth is to have on her marriage day [goods to the value of] 20 marks. Should wife Margret remarry, then moveables to the value of 20 marks are to be divided between his children William, Thomas, Mare and Elzabeth. To every godchild 4d.. His wife is to have 2 half yard land called Halles and Barfordes for life, with reversion to his son Richard Faldo. His son Richard Faldo, after the death of his mother and grandmother, is to pay to his brother William Faldo 5 marks a year for the next three years, and then pay brother Thomas £5 in the following three years (that is 33s. 4d. each year). To Thomas Kembeshed 2 bushel of barley. To George Gurnaye 2 bushel of barley. To William Loo a bushel of barley. To Agnes Cranesweke a bushel of barley.
