    Folio 153d Thomas Butman of Harrydon in the parish of Cardington alias Caryngton made 12 Oct. 1542, proved 12 Dec. 1542. Burial in the church yard of Cardington. Son John is to have 2 beasts, that is to say 2 kine, which are to be let out to his advantage, which beasts go to him when the comes to the years of discretion. The beasts are to be let by testator's uncle John Butman and testator's wife Agnes. To son John 26s. 8d. at the age of 14. To testator's uncle John Butman testator's best coat. To his brother John a pair of sheets. To his grandmother of Elstow 20d.. Residue to his wife Agnes. Should his son John die before the age of discretion, the 26s. 8d. and the beasts are to be used for the souls of testator and his son. Executors uncle John Butman and wife Agnes. Witnesses Symon Tayler, curate, Edward Marston alias Tayeller, Agnes Cowper, Margaret Cowper.
