    Folio 151d Richard Spenser of Gretford in the parish of Sandey made 25 July 1542, proved 12 Oct. 1542. Burial in the church yard of St. Swethune in Sandey. To the paving of the church porch 3s. 4d., or more if needed. To wife Jone 4 of his best beasts, 10 couple of ewes and lambs, 8s. in money that she is to receive from George Cartewright, a hempland that lies under Gretford, and her household stuff that she brought with her. To his son William Spenser 6s. 8d. in money, 6 ewes and 4 lambs. To his son Michael 6s. 8d. in money, a cow, and a coat of buck leather. To his son Roger 6s. 8d., and to Roger's children Richard and Agnes a cow. To his dau. Elzabeth 13s. 4d., a cow and 6 sheep. To son Swethune 13s. 4d., a cow, 6 sheep and testator's greatest pan and greatest pot, 6 pieces of pewter next to the best, and the copyhold of testator's house, and the residue of household stuff not elsewhere bequeathed.
