    Folio 141 Thomas Mowse of Cranefild, made 27 Jan. 1542/3, proved 13 Apr. 1543. Soul into the hands of God and all the holy company of heaven. Burial in the parish church yard of SS. Peter and Paul of Cranefild; to the high altar for tithes forgotten 2 bushels of barley; to the Rood loft one pound of wax; to the bells a bushel of barley; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.. To his son William Mowce after the deaths of testator and his wife a brass pot, which once belonged to testator's mother. To Richard Mowce the son of testator's son William a posnet which once belonged to testator's first wife. To Elyn' and Johanna Mowce the daus. of testator's son William, a pewter platter each. To son John Mowce all testator's copyholds in Craneynfild after the deaths of testator and his wife, charged with the payment of 20s. a year for 4 years to his brother Richard Mowce, or if he should die before the amount is paid, then the money is to go to the rest of testator's children. Residue to wife Agnes, executrix, to use for souls, and the overseer to be Henry Wheler, who is to have 20d.. Witnesses sir John Grace, curate there, William Ryng, Thomas Allen.
