    Folio 138d Edmund Buckebe of Luton, made 22 Sep. 1542, proved 10 May 1543. "I bequeth my soull to Almeghty God". Burial in the church of Our Lady in Luton, by his wife; to the high altar there for tithes and offerings forgotten 3s. 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 4d.; at his burial and at his month's tide a dirige and 3 masses to be sung at Luton. Michael Thrale and John Reyner are to have the profits of his house at Hogge Layne Ende to pay his debts and carry out his legacies and to keep 2 obits each year in Luton church every half year immediately after testator's death, until William Buckebe, son of Thomas Buckebe, come to the age of 24. At that time the house and all profits are to go to William and his heirs, and he to continue to keep the obits. At each obit 3s. is to be paid out of the rent of the house. Should William die without issue, then the house is to go to John Cooke, son of testator's daughter, and to his heirs, and should he die without issue then the house to go to the next of testator's blood. To his son Thomas Buckebe 20s., and to each of Thomas' children 20d., and to his dau. Elzabeth 6s. 8d.. To his dau. Jone Holdern' 3s. 4d., and to each of her children 12d.. To John Reyner 6s. 8d.. Residue to William Buckebe at the age of 24, and until then executors Michaell Thrall gent. and John Reyner to take the profits, as above, and to Michael Thrall 20s. and to John Reyner 13s. 4d., besides their costs and charges.
