John Burne, priest, living in Bedford, made 20 July 1540, proved 13 Mar. 1542.
Burial in the chancel of St. Paule's church, Bedford, by Symon de Bello Campo, sometime founder of Newnham. For his burial in that place to his curate 10s.; to the mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to the high altar for duties forgot 3s. 4d.; to be distributed to priests, clerks, and poor people £20.

Also a white plain piece of silver and 6 silver spoons to him and the heirs of his body, and for lack of such issue to Alexander Burne and his heirs, in default of heirs to Elzabeth West and her issue. To Alexander Burne a standing cup with cover of silver and gilt called Noteingham, and testator's best salt with the cover, and 6 silver spoons to him and the heirs of his body, in default of such issue to Richard Burne and his heirs, in default to Elzabeth Weste and her heirs.
To Alexander Burne and his assigns his lease of the orchard in Well Street, held of the Master of the "More" Prebend.
To niece Elzabeth West and the heirs of her body his great "nutt" and the other white piece and 6 silver spoons, in default of heirs to Richard and Alexander Burne and their heirs.
To niece Agnes Burne and the heirs of her body a standing gilt mazer, his second salt with the cover, and 6 silver spoons, in default of heirs to Richard and Alexander and their heirs.
To the church of St. Paules in Bedford all the ornaments he has to the honour of God in the said church at the discretion of testator's brother and sister, and of testator's curate and ghostly father, Master Byrd.
Residue to his brother William Burne and Elsabeth his wife (his executors) for the term of their lives, then to be distributed between their 4 children: Richard, Elzabeth, Alexsander and Agnes. Supervisor Master Byrd.
