    Folio 130 Thomas Day of Howghton Conqueste, weaver, made 15 Apr. 1541 [also 33 Hen. VIII, so 1542] proved 19 Oct. 1542. Burial in the church yard of Howghton; to the high altar for tithes and oblations forgotten 2d.; to repair the steeple there 12d.. To his wife Agnes for her lifetime the house that Angle late lived in, and on her death it is to go to son Edmund and issue, and should Edmund die, then to son William, or if William has died, then to testator's eldest surviving daughter. To wife Agnes for life the house that testator lives in with all lands, meadows and pastures, and on her death it is to go to his son William, or if he has died then to testator's eldest surviving son, in default to testator's eldest surviving daughter. His wife Agnes is to keep the houses in repair. Residue to his wife, wishing her to bring up his children until they are able to get their own living, and she to help them if they marry. Executors his wife Agnes, his father-in-law William Denette, and Roger Strayton. Witnesses William Coven parson of the Gildable, Thomas Strayton, Edmund Billcocke.
